Men’s Guide to Hair Straighteners

We’ve all been there. You’re at the airport, about to board a flight and you start looking for your gate. All of the sudden, it hits you: “I forgot my hair straightener! How will I survive this trip?”

No need to worry! With these tips and tricks, we can help you get through those long flights without having to pay an arm and a leg for a stylist or have crazy bedhead when you arrive in your destination city.

1) Bring Your Own Tools-

If possible, bring your own tools with you on your next trip so that nothing goes wrong. That way if something happens while traveling, like leaving them in the hotel room after checking out or forgetting them on the plane – you don’t have to go out and buy a new pair of hair straighteners.

2) Use The Dryer-

If you forgot your straightener at home, try using the blow dryer in your hotel room or apartment to get those locks looking sleek and smooth before walking out the door. Keep in mind this will take a lot longer than using the straightener itself.

3) Use A Curling Iron-

If you have a curling iron at home, bring it with you on your trip! It’s basically the same thing as a hair straightener just in a different shape. So if you have one of these bad boys at home, bring it with you!

4) Use A Flat Iron-

If you have a flat iron at home, bring it with you! Just because it’s not shaped the same way as the hair straightener doesn’t mean that it won’t do what you need to fix your locks.

It may take a few tries to get it right, but it’s much better than having crazy bedhead the entire time you are away.

5) Wash Your Hair-

This doesn’t always work for everyone, but if you have wavy or curly locks that are easy to fix with water, try washing them before leaving for sight-seeing or exploring. This will help your hair look less crazy the next day.

Throw On A Hat- If you are traveling to a destination that doesn’t have harsh sunlight, throw on a hat to avoid having flat, lifeless locks.

Hair Spray- Grab some extra hairspray from the hotel/apartment bathroom to spritz throughout the day to keep your locks looking great!

Use Dry Shampoo- If you can’t wash your hair or if washing it doesn’t do the trick, use dry shampoo to keep those tresses looking voluminous. This is definitely an extra step so try not to overdue it.

Don’t Forget About Ponytails!- If you’re going on a trip and want to keep your hair out of the way, make sure to bring a couple different types of ponytails. You can wear one early in the day and change it up for dinner or before heading out at night. This is an easy way to make your hair look cute and keep it from being a hassle.

Keep Other Options In Mind- If you have to leave your flat iron or curling iron at home, consider trying some other techniques before giving up on your trip completely. For instance, check out some of these braid tutorials for an easy way to give your hair a little boost!

Get Creative- If you have a lot of time on your hands before leaving for the airport, get creative and try some new hairstyles. Brush up on some updos or braids to keep your locks looking cute while on vacation!

Don’t Get Discouraged- Look at this as an opportunity to try out a new style or if nothing else, use this trip as a way to get creative! You never know what your hair might look like when you get back home!

Do some research and figure out what works best for your locks. Keep these tips in mind the next time you’re going on a trip so that you don’t have to worry about leaving your hair straightener at home or being stuck with bad hair days from now on.
